I Almost Spent Another $20,000

Last year I bought a truck and camper so I could escape the noise.

Fishing.
Kayaking.
Camping.
Ski hill parking.

Simple plan.

Then the truck and camper got stolen.

The camper came back damaged.
The truck disappeared. Did not stop me, I bought a second truck and camper and sold the camper, second truck, ready to go.

Second truck broke, like seriously, a broken frame.

By the time the dust settled, I was about $28,000 out of pocket.

Now I had a decision:

Spend another $20,000 on a truck
or
Sell the camper and walk away.

Emotionally, the answer felt obvious.

Buy the truck.

But that’s when I did something different.

I opened ChatGPT. Not to write something.

To think something through.

AI isn’t just a productivity tool.

It’s a thinking partner.

Sometimes the best thing AI can do is slow you down long enough to find common sense again.

Next Wednesday I’ll show you the trap I almost fell into.

It’s one of the most expensive thinking mistakes people make.

Here is the format going forward.

Mon and Tues: Short, useful prompts
Next 5 Wednesdays: The Un-Common Sense Series with AI: The $28,000 Camper Lesson How AI helped me slow down and make a better decision.
